ESCMID Global 2026 Contributions
17-21 April 2026, Munich, Germany

On 17–21 April 2026, faculty members and residents from Thai Travel Clinic, Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Mahidol University, attended the The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Global conference (ESCMID Global) 2026 in Munich, Germany.
During this conference, the residents gained valuable experience from participating in an international scientific meeting, including attending lectures delivered by world-renowned experts, exchanging knowledge and experiences with researchers and healthcare professionals from various countries, keeping up to date with academic advances and innovations in infectious diseases, and building international academic networks.
In addition, several academic works were presented and received interest as well as valuable feedback from conference participants, including:
- Public awareness barometer during major outbreaks of Ebola, yellow fever, and Marburg: a global search trends analysis – presented by Dr. Narissara Techavachara (3rd year resident)
- Assessing the regional preparedness and importation risk of Nipah virus (NiV): A rapid response analysis following the 2025-2026 West Bengal outbreak – presented by Dr. Tanatorn Soravipukuntorn (3rd year resident)
- Erythema multiforme associated with acute localized exanthematous pustulosis in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection: a diagnostic challenge – presented by Dr. Pimlada Chandaeng (2nd year resident)
- Incidence of animal exposure among international travellers to Bali and their characteristics – presented by Dr. Anastasia Putri (international resident)
