Training opportunities in Tropical and Travel Medicine

 

 

1. Formal Training Courses: DTM&H, MCTM, MSc (Tropmed), Ph.D. (TropMed)


The Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine, the educational arm of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, offers regular postgraduate programs, from graduate diploma to doctoral levels. The school is acknowledged and approved by the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene to be one of the eight schools in the world in which the student can get a diploma in tropical medicine. In addition, it is the only school in which the student can learn tropical diseases in the tropics.

Participants in the Faculty’s programs gain practical, hands-on training in a tropical country, and experience the actual patients, diseases, health services, social contexts and environments of a tropical country, along with learning the latest treatments for tropical diseases. More……

 

2. Residency Training in Travel Medicine

This is a professional training for doctors who want to be a specialist in Travel Medicine. It is 3 years full-time training program. Doctors who successfully complete training will be awarded "Board Certified.." . More information on residency training in travel medicine. 

3. International Training Courses in Tropical Medicine:

Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University we arrange various short-training courses. Some courses are collaborated between us and other academic institutes. Since all courses are taught in English, doctors and other health care professionals from all around the world are always welcome.  Please visit this page for more information. 

 

4. Short course in Travel Medicine
As an academic center in Travel Medicine, we arrange several short training course in Travel Medicine. Some courses are just for Thai doctors while some are for International doctors and other related health care professionals. Please visit our website/facebook for our updated course. The next one will be the "Travel Medicine Review 2018" (conducted in Thai).

 

5. Elective program for medical students/residents/fellows
We usually receive inquiries from medical students/residents around the world who would like to rotate in our clinic as well as in our hospital. Generally, we do welcome all of you. However, it is very difficult for us to arrange the rotation program on individual requirement. If possible, please come into group and let us know before hand.
